- Choose a Variety of
outfits. It's a good idea to include both casual and more formal outfits
in your senior portraits. You choose a couple and let mom choose one or
two, that way everyone is happy. Also use a variety of
colors... black , gray and white are good choices, but include some
color too!
- Stay clear of stripes! large bold ones
are ok, Small thin ones will not photograph well.
- Long sleeve solids or subtle prints are most
flattering in portraits.
- Make sure your clothes are neat and not wrinkled!
Have your clothes ironed.
- Sunburn, tan lines! Everyone please out of the
sun a week before your session.
Medium to dark clothes look best on dark background. So if you like these
dramatic looks, use darker subdued colors. So if you like lighter sets and
backgrounds bring lighter clothes that will go with the backgrounds you
prefer.
For Outdoor portraits stay away from
greens they often clash with leaves and grass. Black, khaki, pink, orange
navy, tan, burgundy, dark yellow are good outdoors. We recommend staying
away from whites and pale colors outdoors.
Busy patterns and loud colors can be very
distracting in your portraits, avoid them as they tend to draw attention
away from your face.
-
Guys should not have a fresh haircut.
If you need a hair cut have it done about a week before your
session. 5 o'clock shadow will show, so a fresh shave is a good idea.
-
Gals wear your make up as you
normally do, senior portrait time is not a good time for make up
experiments. Don't for get your jewelry.
